Mrs. Bryant - Mrs. Bryant was born in Pontiac, Michigan, but has lived here in central Virginia since the 1970s. She attended school in Campbell County and received her teaching degree from Lynchburg College. Mrs. Bryant has been happily married to Buster Bryant for nearly thirty-eight years, and together they have raised four lovely daughters, Jamie, Haley, Kasey, and Whitney. Their family has grown to include three sons-in-law and five grandchildren, one of which attends LRES; two others at BMS. Mrs. Bryant enjoys listening to music while taking long walks, gardening, and going to the beach with her family. She has also enjoyed teaching fifth graders for seventeen years and is so happy to be a part of the LRES family.
Mrs. Heideman - This year will be Mrs. Heideman’s 10th year as a 5th grade teacher. A native born Floridian, Jennifer came to Virginia to attend Liberty University in pursuit of a career in education. After meeting her Oklahoman husband, the two decided to make Lynchburg home over 20 years ago. Mrs. Heideman (and Mr. Heideman) have three beautiful children: Annalyse - 9th grade BHS, Alysa - 7th grade BMS, and Eli - 4th grade LRES. Mrs. Heideman enjoys reading books, a good cup of coffee, fall, pumpkins, Oklahoma football, and spending time with family and friends.
Ms. Martin - Ms. Martin has been a fifth grade teacher at LRES for over twenty years. Before coming to LRES, she taught seventh grade at Amherst Middle School for three years. She has lived in Lynchburg her whole life and is a graduate of Heritage High School. Jennifer has a Bachelor’s Degree from Longwood University and a Master’s Degree from the University of Virginia. She and her family members are avid UVA fans and attend many baseball, football, and basketball games throughout the year. She has two children. Her son, Caden, is a senior at BHS, and her daughter, Cami, is a eigth grader at BMS. Both of her kids are very involved in sports, and Jennifer spends a lot of her free time cheering them on from the sidelines. When not at a sporting event, Ms. Martin enjoys exercising and traveling with her family and friends to different places.
Mrs. Pfenninger - Mrs. Pfenninger is starting her 25th year of teaching. She has taught in the states of Texas, Florida, and Maryland before moving to Virginia this year. She is very excited to be here at Leesville Road Elementary. This is her 9th year teaching fifth grade and loves teaching and preparing students for middle school. Mrs. Pfenninger has been married to her husband, Mr. Pfenninger, for 34 years. They have four grown children Jonathan, Abigail, Noah and Jackson. They also have two beautiful granddaughters, Ivy and Elliott. Mrs. Pfenninger and her family are big Disney fans and enjoy traveling and hiking together.
Mrs. Simmons - Mrs. Simmons was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pa and in 2011 relocated to the Forest area with her husband who is a Lynchburg native. They have 3 children together: Sarah - 22 in the Army National Guard, Ava 13 - Brookville Middle school, and Christian - 11 attends Forest Middle School. She has been happily married to Chris for 20 years. Mrs. Simmons spends most of her time involved in her children's sports such as travel soccer and football. Her favorite things to do are to cook, read and listen to music.
